At Effinger’s we are passionate about plants. Since 1979 we have been growing quality plants that work in southern Illinois. We like “new” and “trendy” varieties, but also the tried and true. We represent Proven Winners®, Monrovia® and Greenleaf®; three of the best plant brands in the country. What truly sets us apart from the rest is that most of our inventory is grown here on-site, and the rest is sourced from local growers. Unlike big box stores, we have a deep connection with our community and our customers get to work directly with our mature and knowledgeable staff. Customer service is a priority here at Effinger’s. Unlike big box stores, Effinger’s Garden Center is a local grower and retailer of the popular Proven Winner plants. We grow Proven Winner annuals, perennials and shrubs right here in Belleville. Agastache Guava Lava (Hummingbird Mint)
Coral orange flowers bloom all summer. Tolerate heat, drought and humidity. Hummingbirds cannot resist. Deer tolerant and pollinator friendly. Full sun with good drainage. 20-22 inches. Upright plant. Perennial.
Spertunia Bubblegum
Vigorous mounding very pink, pink petunia best for beds or large pots. Continuous bloom, heat and drought tolerant, no deadheading required. 12-24 inches. A filler plant. Annual.
Cuphea Vermillionaire (Firecracker Plant)
A real hummingbird magnet. Bright orange firecracker shaped flowers. Thrives in heat and humidity. Drought tolerant. Blooms all summer without deadheading. 18-24 inches. A filler plant. Annual.
Hydrangea Let’s Dance Sky View
Beautiful sky blue flowers with honeydew-green centers. Continuous bloom on a compact bushy 2-3 foot plant. Part sun is best. Aluminum sulphate is required to maintain blue flower color. Otherwise may turn pink in our soils.
