At Effinger’s we are passionate about plants. Since 1979 we have been growing quality plants that work in southern Illinois. We like “new” and “trendy” varieties, but also the tried and true. We represent Proven Winners®, Monrovia® and Greenleaf®; three of the best plant brands in the country. What truly sets us apart from the rest is that most of our inventory is grown here on-site, and the rest is sourced from local growers. Unlike big box stores, we have a deep connection with our community and our customers get to work directly with our mature and knowledgeable staff. Customer service is a priority here at Effinger’s. Because we grow our plants we know the plants. Healthy plants at fair prices.

Weigela ‘Sonic Bloom Wine’
The first-ever dark-leafed weigela with repeat flowering. The deep purple foliage provides a wonderful, summer-long contrast to the bubblegum-pink flowers. Pollinator friendly and deer resistant. 4-5 ft. tall
Hydrangea ‘Let’s Dance Sky View’
A beautiful sky blue hydrangea with a honeydew-green eye. Compact growth habit makes it great for the garden or a container. 2-3 ft tall and wide.
Salvia ‘Back to the Fuchsia’
Excellent vigor and basal branching form a full, well-rounded colorful perennial. Fuchsia pink flowers on charcoal stems will rebloom if sheared back. Pollinator friendly and deer resistant. 22-24 inches tall.
Caladium Heart to Heart ‘Lemon Blush’
Lemony green and pink upright leaves with a hot pink center and pink veining. A new look in caladiums. It is a part shade to shade plant. Caladiums also make fine houseplants in a bright window.15-20 inches.
