At Effinger’s we are passionate about plants. Since 1979 we have been growing quality plants that work in southern Illinois. We like “new” and “trendy” varieties, but also the tried and true. We represent Proven Winners®, Monrovia® and Greenleaf®; three of the best plant brands in the country. What truly sets us apart from the rest is that most of our inventory is grown here on-site, and the rest is sourced from local growers. Unlike big box stores, we have a deep connection with our community and our customers get to work directly with our mature and knowledgeable staff. Customer service is a priority here at Effinger’s. Unlike big box stores, Effinger’s Garden Center is a local grower and retailer of the popular Proven Winner plants. We grow Proven Winner annuals, perennials and shrubs right here in Belleville. Check out these Proven Winner® plants that have won national attention. Selected for their easy care and excellent performance, at least one needs a spot in your yard this coming spring.
Butterfly Bush – Pugster Sorbet
A new color for butterfly bush in a multicolor blend of purple, pink and white. Pollinator magnet. Large fragrant blooms on a small sturdy 1- 2 ft. plant. Seedless so not invasive.
Fairytale Bride Hydrangea
Unique cascading hydrangea has horizontal habit of pure white lace cap blooms. Pretty in decorative containers and hanging baskets when small, with size looks great trailing over rock walls or ledges. 3-4 ft tall and wide.
Hydrangea – Pufferfish
Puffed-up big, bold white blooms engulf the plant obscuring the foliage. Tight compact habit, no flopping. Blossoms age to a pale green. 3-4 ft.
Arborvitae Anna’s Magic Ball
Dwarf gold conifer is versatile in the landscape or is small enough for a container. Foliage has good color retention over winter. 2-3 ft tall and wide.
